About Self

An IIT Rorkee educated physicist, has been in the United States since 1978 as a faculty member, researcher,Head of the Department, Assistant Vice President, Associate Vice Chancellor, and Dean of Science and Engineering at many different universities. He was competitively selected to be a Fellow of the American Council on Education and later an Executive Fellow at the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy. These prestigious fellowships provided him first hand exposure on how public policy, politics, public-private partnerships, relationship building, and systems function in the broadest sense for the public good. He is widely travelled as a researcher, educator and/or developing partnerships in UK, Japan, Italy, Germany, Korea, South Africa, The Netherland, Portugal, Spain, Poland, Belgium, France, Sweden, Pakistan and more. He has visited India numerous times for partnerships and recruitment with a broad understanding of cultural, economic and social issues. These experiences have enabled him the unique ability to offer tailor made solutions for partnership building, assessing institutions, and offering strategic solutions. If he does not know the answer, he is uniquely qualified and positioned to research and/or get to the source to seek answers in an effective and efficient way.

As a long-term educator at heart, he understands the globalization and value of adding global diversity through internationalization; the continuing need for academic mobility of students and professionals, particularly in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) areas; and the growing inter-dependence among countries to meet the diverse workforce needs. The ever expanding globalization, workforce mobility, and competitiveness among nations necessitate that students are well prepared with an experience in, and understanding of, advanced technologies. He continues to consult with startup companies and institutions in India.
